Liminal period

I love the word liminal, and use it whenever possible.  And that's what this is: post-publication, post-Booker-longlist-excitement, pre-paperback-excitement, in the long slow trudge through the first chapters of a new novel.  At least, I hope it's liminal.  Maybe it's less promising than that.

But let us feign optimism.  There are good things ahead! Such as the new events I've added to the events page here! And English apples are in season! And...er, that's it.
